Students will practically learn elements of automated machines: PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, GE Fanuc), VFD, Servo Drive, Sensors, Pneumatics, SCADA, HMI, Barcode Reader, RFID, Machine Vision for inspection-guidance and measurements, PID control and principles of process optimization, Thermo Controllers, Safety Relay, Industrial Networks including Wireless Networks, Web Enabled Control (When PLC sends E-Mail or Using WEB Browser to control PLC).
Elements should be integrated into the system—automated machine. Students will learn how to do this practically. How to program elements, use adaptive learning, configure Networks, send and receive Data, Wire elements,
The backbone of any machine is a good PLC program. PLC program must be clean of bugs, clear and easy to understand by a maintenance personnel, easy to troubleshoot. .We developed special methods to write this type of programs and students will practically write and test those programs.
We developed methods for the machine self diagnostics. One part of this program resides in the PLC and the other in Operator panel. See the example of the faulty element location and instructions for operator on the HMI diagnostics screen.
Students will learn practical approaches in the Industrial maintenance, Diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques. How to setup and run different types of maintenance systems, how to practically evaluate effectiveness of the system.
In Year 2008 we included into the full time course some new materials:
